USAWlogoThe two competition lifts are the snatch and the clean and jerk. Olympic weightlifting tests aspects of human ballistic limits (explosive strength) and are therefore executed faster—and with more mobility and a greater range of motion during their execution – than other lifts. Properly executed, the snatch and the clean and jerk are both dynamic and explosive while appearing graceful.

SICFIT Scottsdale’s Barbell Club is designed to help you get comfortable under the bar. We will focus on the technique, form and associated lifts that will have you throwing more weight around than you ever thought possible.

Here’s what you can expect:

Level 1 Classes: You will learn to PROPERLY execute the Snatch, Clean & Jerk, Power Snatch, Power Clean. You will also learn squatting variations, pulling variations and overhead pressing variations that will improve your overall lifting capabilities. Most importantly, you will learn to become COMFORTABLE under the bar.

Level 2 Classes: In this advanced Olympic Lifting class you will gain strength and hit personal records. You will spend more time on individual lifts to become efficient in each move.
