“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live” ~ Jim Rohn
Two weeks down, Thanksgiving is over and things should be smooth sailing for the next 3 weeks. Here are some tips to optimize the next 3 weeks:
1.Just because it’s Paleo doesn’t mean it’s good for you in any quantity at any time. Technically paleo ingredients doesn’t automatically make it a good food choice. In other words just because I made a “Paleo” pumpkin pie, “Paleo” pancakes, “Paleo” muffins or “Paleo” cookies I don’t need to eat them everyday or eat the entire batch. Just because you made a poor food choice out of “Paleo” ingredients doesn’t mean that it is a free for all. Just know what you are eating the majority of the time and make sure your fuel, your core foods are lean meats and fish, veggies and healthy oils. Especially if you are trying to lean out.
2. Focus on veggies. The sugar cravings should have subsided and you should be having more veggies and eliminating ALL sugars including the honey, agave, and maple syrup that are “challenged approved”. The majority of your carbohydrates should be coming from nutrient dense vegetables.
3. Make sure you are eating enough. Talk with your coach and give them a rundown of your daily routine so that they can make sure you have the right amounts of proteins, fat and carbs so that you are losing fat and not muscle.
4.Sign up for the Paleo Cooking Seminar! The best way to ensure your success on the challenge or optimizing your food intake even if you are not Paleo is to know how to feed yourself. Too many people don’t make a lifestyle change to healthy eating because they don’t know how to cook. It’s about cooking and knowing how to prep for a week at a time that will truly make you successful and form a lasting lifestyle change. Check out more details in the following blog post.
